Baroda Branch of WIRC of ICAI - the name stands for unity, dedication, hard work, quality, creativity and professionalism. It was constituted in 1967 with a modest membership of 25. Today, with a membership of over 1600 Chartered Accountants, Baroda Branch is recognised as one of the most active, vibrant branch and one of the best branches of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Branch conducts a host of activities throughout the year, which include Refresher Courses, International Study Tours, Conferences, Seminars, Workshops, Lecture Meetings and Study Circle Meetings for its members and students. The Branch also organises sports activities, cultural events and also social gatherings wherein fellowship amongst members and their families can be nurtured. The Branch further takes initiatives in organising programs for public at large on economic issues concerning the common man by associating with various non-professional bodies. By doing so, it not only fulfils its social obligations but also creates awareness in the society of the role played by Chartered Accountants.
Baroda Branch also has a very active CPE Study Circle which since its inception in 1998, has taken lead in conducting meetings almost every month on various subjects of professional interest.
The Branch has under its aegis the Baroda Branch of WICASA, which was formed in the year 1968 which caters to over 12000 students residing in and around Baroda. Baroda Branch of WICASA is amongst the most active students’ association of the ICAI.
The Branch organizes Coaching Classes for CPT and IPCC students wherein quality education by best faculties of Baroda is rendered at affordable costs. The Baroda Branch also has financial assistance scheme for students under which students are assisted to the extent of 50% of their study cost every year.
Baroda Branch has an its own state-of-the-art “ICAI Bhawan” – a building of 17000 sq. ft. with fully equipped auditorium, conference hall, reading rooms, class rooms, committee meeting room, cafeteria, administration office and executive room which are well used by its members and students. Baroda Branch is the first branch of ICAI which is having facility on its website for program registration.
